This beauty is made from a wood called Paducah or Padauk. It comes from Central and West Africa. We paired it with epoxy colored with Copper pigment and a touch of pigment called 14 K Nugget. Once you mix the epoxy, which is a 1/2 & 1/2 mixture of Hardener and Resin, you have little to no control over how it will come out. The mixture begins to heat up and almost boil. You can attempt to make swirls, etc., but it has its own mind. And that is one of the things we love about working with epoxy. In this case, it looks a lot like snake skin. We've actually never had it come out looking like this. Want a different wood or a different color? We can do that. Like the shape of the board, but want something entirely different? We can usually do that.
